The Community Centre Alliance (CCA) is helping to reduce poverty at the grassroots level, with a focus to help individuals move out of poverty, by providing programs and services related to education, literacy, and employment.

The Community Centre Alliance (CCA) is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Community Employment Facilitator.

Skill Requirements: Experience in the field of employment/career counselling would be considered beneficial. Outreach experience in a community-based setting would also be a definite asset.

Education: Completion of a related post-secondary program or equivalent in related work experience required.

The Community Employment Facilitator will be responsible for providing community and employment services for the Community Centre Alliance. This position will work from various locations of our 5 partner community centres.  Duties and tasks will include:

  • Determine individual needs of program participants and assist with developing goals
  • Provide career development and labour market information sharing
  • Determine eligibility to Pre-employment and personal management programs and services
  • Determine employability through Employment Readiness Scale (ERS)
  • Gathering client information including education, skills, goals, profiles
  • Utilize knowledge of community networks and resources to provide appropriate service, intervention and/or referral
  • Provide clients with job search assistance and career related support including:
  • Resume development and cover letter writing services
  • Interview skills information and training
  • Support filling out a variety of forms for services such as; job applications, E.I. claims, student loan applications, scholarships/bursaries, and others as required.
  • Provide career maintenance and support through consistent follow up
  • Provide educational related information including secondary and post-secondary requirements and opportunities
  • Develop and deliver group sessions/workshops and manage work experience programming.
  • Provide support through community outreach, engagement and information sharing to link community residents with available programs and services

Maintain and manage client files using the Accountability and Resource Management System (ARMS)

Prepare monthly activity reports, quarterly reports as require.

Access to a vehicle is a requirement for this position.
