Home Again collects gently-used furniture and household items from individuals and businesses, and delivers these items to those in need. We work through a referral system with partner agencies to help end furniture poverty in the North East Avalon region of Newfoundland.

The Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador, with financial support from the Government of Canada, is pleased to announce that community service placements will be available to nonprofit organizations and youth this summer. There will be some program changes which sponsoring organizations should be aware of:

  1. Because participants receive a tuition credit voucher and a cash stipend, SWASP students should not be placed in similar jobs as those who are compensated by wages, including other summer wage programs.
  2. Community service placements may not be considered essential to the nonprofit organization. They will not replace or duplicate the duties of any organizational employee.

It provides resources and tools for Employment Counselors who are looking to expand their programming and adapt their practices to better serve youth with mental health issues.
