AXIS Career Services-ANC

The Association for New Canadians (ANC), established in 1979, is a non-profit, community based organization dedicated to the provision of settlement and integration programs and services, English as a Second Language Training, and Career and Employment programs and services for immigrants and refugees.

With support from various federal and provincial departments, the ANC offers a wide range of programs and services. These include:

Settlement Services
Resettlement Assistance Program; Support Groups; Reception and Orientation; Housing Accommodations; Community Referrals and Liaison; Counselling Assistance and Referrals; Interpretation and Translation; Health and Wellness Initiatives; Life Skills Training; Community Health and Wellbeing Support Groups; and Diversity Training

ESL Training and Assessment
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) Program; Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (the ANC is the CLB Assessment Centre for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador); Itinerant Teacher Program; ESL Classes; Pronunciation Classes; Interprovincial ESL Outreach; LINC HomeStudy; Childminding and Daycare Programs

AXIS Career Services
AXIS (Acquiring eXperience; Integrating Skills), a division of the Association for New Canadians, provides comprehensive, career-focused services and employment programs for internationally educated workers and entrepreneurs. Through interactive engagement with employers and collaborative partnerships with all levels of government, industry and the community, AXIS aims to facilitate successful labour market integration for newcomers.

Services:, a Skills-Matching Database quickly and effectively links a talented pool of work-ready, internationally educated and skilled workers with employers in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Employers are able to post job openings for free, broswe resumes, find answers to immigration questions, labour market information and access services available through AXIS Career Services.
