Youth Works Well

Murphy Centre

Youth Works Well is a Skills Link project for youth between the ages of 18 and 30 which helps participants develop employability skills and gain the experience they need to make informed career decisions, find a job, and/or return to school.
The program offers a paid pre-employment phase in which participants gain free workshops and certifications, essential skills training, job search skills and job maintenance training. Participants are expected to attend all sessions for 30 hours per week.

The employment phase of the program offers a subsidized work placement and ongoing case management support from the program coordinator. The types of positions available are dependant on the labour market and the experience and skills of each participant.

Skills Link is sponsored by Service Canada and to participate youth must have a barrier to employment, not be in receipt of EI, be able to commit to the entire program, and are looking to maintain employment or return to school after the program is completed.
